My Readings: now and past
This list is updated whenever a new element comes to my mind’s library.
Here, I list books/articles/audiobooks, etc. I have read/listened or have been reading/listening, etc. Whenever I can, a recommendation or a brief review will be offered.
- Delighting in God, an audiobook by A. W. Tozer: I listened and read this challenging book at the same time cover2cover in one day, at the end I had to bow down my knees to ask God to teach me how to constantly delight in Him. So much light and less delight. Tozer described the reality in the modern evangelicalism as someone who is still among us. If you’re a Christian or call yourself a Christian, or is considering to become one, please read this book. WE ALL NEED GOD.
- On Guard, e-book and audiobook by William Lane Craig: this is a good book to build strong arguments and use them in your interaction with skeptics, but not so advanced Reasonable Faith by the same author.
- Not a fan, by Kyle Idleman: I learn a lot from God through Kyle’s work, books, sermons, etc., Not a fan is a challenging book. We live in time where many pulpits just offer a very cheap, false, motivational speeches it’s interesting there’re places “Mega Church” where the Gospel is what we get from the pulpit. The author offers a confrontational approach to define the relationship between Jesus and whoever want be His discipleship. At the end of the day many of us are simply fans of Jesus while Jesus calls for followers. Highly recommend.
- I don’t have enough faith to be an atheist, e-book, and audiobook by Norman L. Geisler and Frank Turek: a great book for starting in apologetics; one of those you start reading, and stop when you realize the previous page you read was the last one.
- You and me forever, e-book, and audiobook by Francis and Lisa Chan: this book is totally different to others in this category; it’s challenging, some folks may describe the way this couple explains marriage as…strict or hard to follow, but personally I think it’s a great book. Most of the book on marriage, relationship would be richer if consider the perspective the authors of this book suggested.
