Thank you for being available.

As I was meditating on 1 Peter 3:13-16 I realised that we do or have to reason (apologetics) for one reason: Christ.

“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:17

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God.”1 Corinthians 10:31

As a Christian all I do or have to do must work for God’s glory, i.e., everything in my life; it’S not just sharing the Good News, but above all, why I do that for there resides the real motivation for doing that and God’s worthy of glory in all. Unfortunately, this isn’t constant in my life sometimes i follow my own desires which often results in frustrations for seeing things happening outside of God’s purpose zone and getting drastically for what I was thinking.

People expect a reason (apologetics) for the hope that is in me. Hence, it’s also one way to honor God by being always prepared to answer questions about my faith.

…in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defence to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you… 1 Peter 3:15

So doing apologetics is living a commitment from the heart with a single motivation: to honor Christ the Lord. It’s more than presenting and defending intellectual arguments, it’s a discussion done with gentleness and respect to those arguing against me, and with at the single thought in mind: the sake of Christ’s glory. More than putting to shame this who revile me I’ve to keep my conscience clean against all artefact from myself trying to decentralize my focus, which is Christ.

For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ2 Corinthians 10:3-5

Apologetics follows

Holiness -> wisdom -> Honor to Christ

In friendshipwe think we have chosen our peers. In reality a few years’ difference in the dates of our births, a few more miles between certain houses, the choice of one university instead of anotherthe accident of a topic being raised or not raised at a first meeting – any of these chances might have kept us apart. But, for a Christian, there are, strictly speaking no chances. A secret master of ceremonies has been at work. Christ, who said to the disciples, Ye have no chosen me, but I have chosen you, I can truly say to every group of Christian friends, Ye have not chosen one another but I have chosen you for one another. The friendship is not a reward for our discriminating and good taste in finding one another out. It is the instrument by which God reveals to each of us the beauties of others. C. S. Lewis
